This site is designed to provide and encourage access to comprehensive information related to Sudden Ionospheric Disturbances and to monitoring of Very Low Frequency signals.
Information presented on this website is considered public information, unless specifically annotated otherwise. Therefore, the Author places no restrictions on the use or distribution of the data contained therein. However, it is requested that in any subsequent use of this work, the Author be given appropriate acknowledgment.

Yes, the design shown here is neither perfect nor specifically suited to your need. This is not a professional making, necessarily limited to the author's means and availability.
This station detects properly SIDs, its stability is satisfactory -- it operates 24/7. In short, it is OK to me.
Whether you like it or not, whether you find it too complex or too simple, etc. is of no relevance. Criticisms are easy to raise, but they reveal too often misunderstandings or even evident lack of knowledge.
Do not hesitate to improve the design. You are free to design your own station and offer it to the community.

Signal Measurement Data

The signal measurement data is provided as is and has not been consolidated in any manner. It may contain non-flare related deviations to the signal strength. This raw data is affected by noise in the vicinity of the observing station, variations to the ionosphere propagation characteristics not linked with a solar event or sudden changes in the transmitting station output power. Visual analysis of the data and correlation with other stations is necessary to validate the detection of an X-ray flare event.

Events List

The events list is provided as is and has not been consolidated in any manner. It can contain false events. Correlation with other stations around the world as well as with satellite measurements is mandatory to confirm the detection of a solar flare event. Please refer to the AAVSO SID program web site or to the NGCD Web SIite for a consolidated list of events.
